Consider Adam, the very first person. He was perfect, lived in Paradise, and enjoyed limitless opportunity. He had authority, creative freedom, and a face-to-face friendship with the Creator of the universe. 

Imagine having a face-to-face friendship with God! Going for walks, discussing ideas, and even asking questions about the complexities of Creation. Please explain the science behind black holes. What is the source of love? Why does the cat behave as she does?

Whether Adam enjoyed this season of life for years or eons, it eventually came to an end. He faced a bitter decision and turned against the One who created him. 

We all face consequential choices, and the best way to prepare is to cultivate love. To identify with those affected by our actions, and to love them well.

It’s worth working this out, because we also have it all.
