Seven takeaways from D. L. Moody* on responding to an inspiring spiritual experience.

1. Pray for one another, but don’t bind yourselves to do it every day until death. Doing so will only burden your conscience and make an irksome duty out of what should be a delightful privilege.

2. Don’t go away and talk so much about the experience as about Christ; the world needs Him.

3. Every place where God leads you, there is your field.

4. Don’t talk an inch beyond your experience.

5. A holy life will produce the deepest impression. Lighthouses blow no horns; they just shine.

6. Confessions should only extend to parties sinned against.

7. Watch out for the devil at the foot of the mountain. Remember to resist Him, and he will flee (James 4:7).
