I love my wife. On my best days I order my life around what’s best for her. She does the same for me, and parents do it for their children.
Jesus takes love to a whole new level. He did what was best for all of us by sacrificing His life to pay the penalty for our sinfulness. He also personally demonstrated what it looks like to “Love God with all your heart,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.1” He even modeled what it looks like to love one’s enemies.
One way to learn how to love like Jesus does is to study someone who does it well. Another way is to get to know Jesus Himself. To read about Him in the Bible. To see what kind of person He is, what He did for others, and how He responded to different types of people. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John as you would the biography of a well-known person, and look for opportunities in your own life to ‘Go and do likewise.’
